About Nebo Gymnastics

Our Beginning…

Nebo gymnastics began in August of 1977 in Spanish Fork, Utah. It moved to its Salem location in February of 1982. Nebo Gym recently made a move back to Spanish Fork into a new facility. We have been able to expand our teams and recreation classes with this move.

Richard Trimble, founder of Nebo Gymnastics, grew up in the sport under the watchful eye of his “acrobat mother”. Rich competed and coached privately from 1965 through 1976 where he finished his last meet for BYU at the NCAA nationals at Temple University PA.

Bringing Nebo Gymnastics to a training level necessary to compete at the regional and collegiate levels was a very difficult task. Rich got involved in clinics and workshops with coaches and members of the 1980 and 1984 Olympic Teams. He pushed his team members to compete in both the USAG and USAIGC regional and national circuits from the mid 1980’s until the present. Combining this training with the training he personally received during his career at the hand of Coach Sano from Japan, he has helped many athletes learn the necessary discipline and skills required to compete at the Division 1 collegiate level.

Philosophy

At Nebo Gymnastics we know that the sport of gymnastics develops physical strength as well as personal confidence, and that your child’s needs come first. We know beginners learn best when the environment is suited to their needs. We realize (more than most) that advanced training and competition is not for everyone, yet, with the correct training and patience a girl can meet hard to reach goals. Some learn the lessons necessary to compete at high levels. We believe in a disciplined and moral environment for your child as they are taught by individuals who really know the sport.
